CoEd Varsity Cross Country - Practice Plans
|Dolores High School||0|
A warm, bordering on hot, sunny afternoon greeted the Dolores Bears Cross Country Team in Monticello, UT. Even though our team is one runner short of qualifying in the team scoring, Bears runners were undeterred, turning in fine efforts. Juniors Phillip Hufman and Brennan Hite lead the way. Hufman ran a personal best race for the demanding three mile course, finishing 5th overall en route to earning a medal. Hite ran strongly, showing that he had not lost any fitness over the summer. Junior Josh Petrow and Freshman James Carson, both running in their first varsity meets, turned in steady efforts. As the season progresses and they adapt to the pace of varsity cross country, they will prove to be integral members of the team. Freshman Tim Wyman, who began the Fall playing golf for Cortez, should join the team by mid-September. With five runners scoring team points, the Bears will then see how they stack up against our regional opponents.
Anyone who would like to join the 2017 Dolores Cross Country Team should simply come to practice. We meet out front the high school at the log tables at 3:50 PM.
Our next meet will be Friday, September 8th in Window Rock, AZ.
